An image that reminded me that the internet, like LAP is about relations that are truly win/win/win.

A 2 day  "conversation from Reno" to:

    • Create a common vision
    • Make connections  with vital partners
    • Explore creative options for developing technology  centers; innovative programs and partnerships; funding sources;
    • Discuss  sustainability issues and implementation ideas.

This interactive 2-day  program was held at the McKinley Arts Center, a facility of the City of  Reno, Nevada, Parks, Recreation and Community Service Department.

For  those unable to attend, we encouraged all to participate online during daily Live  Chats from Reno.

The National Recreation and Park  Association Pacific region is promoting Parks and Recreation community centers  as designated "Local Access Places" (LAPS) including technology centers for  public access to all citizens. As "keeper of public spaces", Parks and  Recreation can position themselves for the future by addressing the challenge  for "bridging the digital divide" by integrating technology and the LAP  philosophy into existing services. This will do much to enhance the role Parks  and Recreation currently serves as facilitators and partners with agencies and  organizations in all parts of the community.
